This course is for gaining a licence to take you from your car licence (Cat B) up to driving a vehicle weighing from 3500kg up to 7500kg. Ideal for Paramedics/Ambulance drivers and small horse lorries or large motorhomes.
Due to changes in licencing, you are now able to go direct from your car licence (Cat B) to your HGV Class 1 from the age of 18. Our experienced team can advise and support you on the journey from Cat B to Cat C+E.
If you currently hold this licence, you will already have the experience of driving a large commercial vehicles and will therefore progress much quicker when upgrading to C+E requiring less time.
Our experienced team can advise and support you on the journey from Cat B to Cat C+E from getting your medical paperwork completed through to guidance and help with the hazard perception test right through to your C+E driving test.
A Category D licence allows you to drive large passenger vehicles, such as buses or coaches, with more than 16 passenger seats. It is required for anyone who wants to operate these vehicles professionally, including service buses, school coaches, or long-distance coaches.
A Category D1 licence allows you to drive minibuses with 9–16 passenger seats. This is ideal for school trips, sports teams, community transport, or small shuttle services. Like Category D, professional driving also requires the CPC qualification.
Although there is currently no longer a need to take a test for this category our experienced team can provide some training to understand the requirements needed to safely couple/uncouple a trailer, provide tuition on the art of safe reversing, loading and the legal requirements of towing a trailer safely.
An Initial CPC can do done after you have passed your MOD 2 Theory test with DVSA.
If you are training with us we will train you and conduct your MOD 4 test in house by one of our qualified MOD 4 Examiners.
